This beer is brewed with Purple Egyptian, an ancient native landrace barley originating near the headwaters of the Nile River and distinguished by its characteristic purple husk. Hanabi sourced a beautiful organically grown crop from the Palouse Heritage family farm in Washington State. Brewed as a Pilsner-style lager, Purple Egyptian opens with abundant cereal grain aromatics, layered with notes of fragrant dried apricot, delicate fresh clover honey, and the lift of sweet mint.
